stick difference

When in spit, joystick work well. It seems to respond so.

If I pull it, then I note a decent response.

Not so in p51 - D model expecially.

Any suggestion?

The P-51 has different flight characteristics than the Spit.

Definitely different flight characteristics. A side note for you when flying the p51 empty the AUX tank first when flying 100% fuel.

But do some planes just "feel" smoother due to stick settings?

For instance I fly Jugs and Corsairs alot, and the pictch always seems nice and smooth,
and in PonyD and some Spits it seems way too bouncy

I kinda wish I could set up different slider settings for different planes

btw,im using the nearly extinct MS precision pro twisty, but i have twisty disabled and use CH pedals

In a P51 I rarely take more then 75% fuel for anything but the longest of flights. And dont worry about which tank first.
 Usually more then enough to get you there and back

It's a combination of 3 things...1) Flight characteristic and stick force differences between the planes 2) stick scaling and 3) ham fisted at the controls.

Reason #1 is obvious, each plane has its own unique flight characteristic and each plane has different stick forces.  The input needed to move the flight surfaces will vary depending on the plane and other factors such as speed and altitude.  Stick force is the force needed to move the stick so the flight surfaces move, this too can be influenced by different factors such as speed.

Reason #2, stick scaling.  The bouncing you describe is a good indicator that you need to adjust the stick scaling for your controls to help smooth out the inputs.

Reason #3 being ham fisted.  Some players are applying too much force on their joystick when maneuvering their plane and not being "light" on the controls. Remember, flight sticks in the game might be modeled with stick forces, your joystick isn't.  Think of your joystick as a "fly by wire" controller, which it is and you have to be "light" on the controls or you will "over steer" your plane.  Stick scaling can help somewhat in countering this but won't eliminate it entirely, so it's important that you teach yourself to be lighter on the controls.

Remember gentlemen, that you can use "modes" or stick sets to switch between a very aggresive profile for turn & Burn planes or a very conservative one for boom and zoom.

Give me a yell if you need help figuring it out.

The problem seems 'a priori' - before all possibles sliders settings.

All sliders up, p51 response seems ALWAYS less quick (pulling stick) for me respect to spits, p47x, f4ux, fm2 etc.

But i don't understand WHY!    :headscratch:

And more i pull less quick p51 nose go up or stay on the flight path!

Sometimes i think that if  possible, then p51 nose  will leave the rest
of the airplane and will return to the hangar alone!   :rofl

It seems to fly a piece of steel !!!

Drag (drug!  :rofl) suffering?

Not sure if you do already...but if you don't...try a notch of flap when in the 51 and you want to turn...
