The Fourth Kind
« on: January 12, 2011, 11:52:07 AM »
Well last night, I sorta had in interesting adventure, I dare say. Earlier yesterday, I tuned to the History channel and watched a little bit of Monster Quest, then fell asleep. Got up a bit later, saw Ancient Aliens, then immediately changed the channel. I never liked that show since much of it sounded like garbage for the masses anyway. Nothing else was on so I flipped to one of the HBO channels and saw "The Fourth Kind" on. Decided I would sit down and watch the movie as nothing else good was on.

Overall, the movie sure is entertaining, if you like being spooked. I don't really believe for one minute that anything in that movie was true, despite the ending credits. Halfway through the movie, a professor mentions the Sumerians. I had seen the word "Sumerian" before in school years ago. But for the light of me, I couldn't put a finger on it. So I decided to do a little research. For those who don't know anything about Sumerians, Wikipedia does a nice job of summarizing it for you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Sumer
-Brief history of Sumer

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sumerian_language
-Description of the Sumerian language

Now while I was searching through different sources about this culture, I came across "Sumerian aliens". At first I thought this was just another History channel garbage for the masses, but I decided to take a quick look into this subject. Through some more digging, I stumbled upon a strange website:

http://www.netscientia.com/orgins.html
-This website explains the Sumerian culture and the supposed theory of the origins of man. NOTE: This website contains a lot of controversial topics and content regarding science and religion. Please take this with a grain of salt!

Apparently the Sumerians were an extremely advanced society that had access to alien knowledge. There are supposedly a lot of Sumerian runes, texts, scriptures, and documents describing in detail on how to fly and operate flying machines, known as "Vimanas". They are also responsible for inspiring later civilizations to build large landing sites for these craft. The Egyptian pyramids apparently being one of them. The list goes on, read for yourself.

Through reading some of the articles in the above mentioned website, there were references to Planet X, or Nibiru:

-Zacharia Sitchin, who deciphered the Sumerian language supposedly claims that extra-terrestrial life made contact to humans in the past and is responsible for many... things.

Do I believe any of this? No. But it was a fun little journey, wading through the Internet out of sheer boredom. Figured I would share with you all, see what insight others might have.

Discuss. :)

I watched that movie a month or so ago.  I found it entertaining as I think Milla Jovovich is a beautiful woman.
