Hey bud didn't mean to be short with you. You were asking me all these questions and I had some guy in a Typhoon B&Zing the hell outta me.  :lol

In short I  really don't know what advice to give you on aircraft.. FW-190 or BF-109, I love em both and suck equally in them. Which cannon 20mm or 30mm? I love em both and suck equally with them.
Ask Hoey I was point blank on a P-51 trying to clear him and missed every stinking shot. He got nailed the P-51 got away. The best advice I can give you is fly on the opposite side from me.  :aok

funny thing is if you give me time to aim...i can't hit anything........keep trying to evade, and yer dead.

 as for cannons?

i hit ok with the 20mm hispanos. the 37mm in the airacobra.....if i hit you with that i'm lucky. the only time i've flown anything german with cannons was jet week.....and those 30mm's seem to be VERY low velocity, judging by how they seemed to drop.

I tend to shy away from the tater planes.  To me it feels a lot like lobbing a hand grenade in the general direction of a con at anything more than 200.  I'd rather carry the 20mm packages but I'm barely above novice.

Cap we haven't fought since last week.  When are you going to be on?

Np Shifty didn't know you were in a fight.  I upped German iron to even out the sides and found myself just getting killed over and over.  So, I when I saw you on--I went to the "expert" of the german iron.   :rock  I then saw we needed to even out the sides and jumped allied---much better--I even got a kill on Hoey.    :salute   Again no big deal bud.

BTW, Hoey---thanks for the advice on the german aircraft, I did survive longer with the advice.   :aok

This AVA stuff is addicting---geez I had fun flying last night.

To anyone who has not flown AVA---give it a try---if nothing else, you will improve your situational awareness skills in the MA's--it is the best bang for your $15.

I've become an unabashed fan of the 109.  Working on the 190 but that will be a long work in progress :D

109 is a tough one to learn.  If you have flown any F4U's regularly start out flying it like that then tweak as needed.  They require a lot of throttle work at low speed because of the crazy torque.  As far as guns If available i pick either the K model or 14, both have the 30 mil nose cannon.  I dont ever take the gondola guns on any of them, seems to drop turning performance to much for me.  I also like to get up close and personal before "tossing my grenade" at them......

the F-4 is the best for turning performance at low speed. its a real floater once you get used to it. the K-4 is good for chasing down runners!

the 109s have always been my first choice for axis planes.  I just cant seem to get the 190s to fly though.  As soon as I try to turn it starts flopping around and falls right out of the sky :uhoh

the 190 is a very tricky plane that will snap roll on you without notice. keep it over 250 and you'll be good, get slow with it and you have to be on top of it or you're done. go easy on the throttle at low speed. sudden throttle increase on both 190 or 109 will do you in. i hope this helps.
