skorpion, Ack Ack actually did offer you the best advice possible

you quoted him with the below reply
once again, you have helped me not one bit. im trying to learn this so if i ever get in a pinch where the enemy knows what im doing i can try one last ditch effort to try to get him to over shoot and let me get in on him

even if you was to learn how to do a good tail slide, it in no way would let you be able to make your opponent overshoot and you be able to retain the energy/speed/maneuverability to "Get in on him"

I recommend you follow up on what Ack Ack posted:
No offense but if I was you, I would work on learning ACM maneuvers that are helpful in combat
ack-ack

one must learn the basic BFM's, everything else is derived from BFM's............ practice them until they become second nature, and also practice exercising your SA ( Situational Awareness ) to maximize it to your best ability....

practice practice practice

Wow Tequila!  Most I ever had was three, you shattered my record... :lol

Anyway, the manuever is a nifty little show-stopper but will not deter or shake a semi-experienced pilot.  Master the basics, then worry about cool moves when you have achieved the level of skill that folks like Krupnski, Ack-Ack and some other notables in this thread have achieved.  Ack's advice to you is on the money...

untill you understand ACM and they become second nature, stuff like a "tail slide" is moot....get in there and fight, get yourself to be able to use the plane on the edge, and then youll understand exactly how your plane reacts to your inputs, and then the tailslide will be a no brainer, learning the ins and outs of your plane of choice is far more important, and then learning the all the other planes, youll see a tail slide is nothing, and actually can hurt you. Its NOT a ACM.
