TrackIR5-Worth it?
« on: January 24, 2011, 10:45:53 PM »
Is it worth it for AH2?  It's the one thing I've never gotten around to messing with.

The main question I have is can you bind a button on your stick to instantly turn it off, as I doubt I'll want to fight with it on, and would rather just use the system I'm used to.

I am confused do you have it? or are you asking if it's worth to buyt it.

You can have a button on your stick to "pause" trakir and if you're not using it at all, just dont turn it on to begin with.  you dont need it to play ah.

for a lot of us trakir is worth every penny, once you get used to it.  if you have it and dont want to use it, then perhaps you can sell it in the other forum to somebody that could use it. and perhaps you could get some of your money back

LOL Sempy...you make about as much sense here as you do screaming on the mic with your incredibly overmodulated voice in game.

I'll clarify, not that it should be nessecary.  I just want to know what users think of it in terms of value, ie IS IT WORTH IT.  My main question being can it be disabled by a quick button or key press, ie you can fly along merrily using it to scan the sky and your instruments, but once engaged it can be made to go away quickly.

Is that clear enough for you?

You can, but if you do that, you are robbing yourself the main feature & advantage the TrackIr has. If you plan to not use it during combat, you might as well stick to the hatview.

not only can you turn it off you can move to a precision mode...couldn't imagine playing without it. I started with it but when i was flying warbirds and using a hat it did take a while to set it up and get used to it!
I can build em better than I can fly em

It can be very irritating at first until you get a profile setup. If you try to just take it out of the box and fly, you will probably get dizzy. Ask around, I had to go to a convention to get my set right.  But once I got a good baseline profile, I tuned it in beautifully. I love it & am very glad to have spent the money
