Cartoon #23
« on: January 30, 2011, 11:10:39 AM »
A little story first. I was flying last night and hooked up with a guy I don't usually fly with because he's on the Bish most of the time and I'm not. Had fun, and switched to Blue after the war was won there and ended up fighting against this same guy. The first thing I saw him type was complains about being ganged by 3 guys. I pointed out I was one of the 3 guys, but had never engaged as I think 2 on 1 should be enough guys, so I flew on by. Ended up having a couple of fights against him both of us in Brewsters, even one were we both lost a wing in a collision, again fun stuff. I was defending a base, and had finally got on the tail of this slippery F6 and started shooting when I see the brewster diving in on me. Seeing as I'm the only rook against a number of Bish, and seeing as I knew it was the same guy that really hated getting jump earlier, I figured I was going to be left alone to finish my kill before he'd engage.

Well you know what happened, Mr "I don't like getting ganged" ganged me. Needless to say I have lost all respect for this loser and he was going to be the subject of todays cartoon, names and all. But then I thought, why lower myself to his level. So instead I drew up a picture for a friend instead of some losers, So I give you.....

Off topic or on it as I'm replying to this statement in your post. It really doesn't matter if you engaged or not, you were still a third icon that the player had to track, watch, whatever and s/he would not have known your intentions to not engage and would have been a fool to discount your presence in the area around him.

I dont mind fugi. And for the record it was I who was to be the cartoon today..

Yes I was working 2 when fugi came by and it is true he did not engage, but as tinman said,I had to track him also,as I did not know his intentions..

LATER,after that We had a fun fight brew V brew, and on our first merge he lost his right wing, and I my left wing,it was a hilarious turn fight as one could imagine. And was fun..

After he went down I ejected to re-up and flew back over to the base where fugi was,at that time I saw that he was on a squaddies six and the squaddie was having a tough time getting him off,I knew it was fugi,BUT I also knew that my squaddie would go down unless I lent a hand which I did.AND I would do the same thing again and again.

TO me I would of lost more face just flying around watching my squaddie get shot down than to go and help him out of a sticky situation..The whole point of having a squad is helping each other out of those type of situations.

I guess that's where we differ. To me it's all about the fight, and funny thing we each called off others when we were fighting the other fights. Got the impression it was all about the fight then too. Your squadie did fine and it took me a while to finally latch on. Maybe he would have got out, maybe not, but well never know as you had to jump in just to save him from having to up another plane  ...which I'm sure he did after he RTBed any way.

No class, No honor, just another dweeb after a cheap kill. Congrats, WTG

Falcon23,

So by your own argument you should assume that 2-3 cons engaging you at once are either squaddies acting as you describe.....or even just teammates, who are also obliged to help each other out if intending not to lose 'face', as you put it.

So moral of the story is don't complain about things you do yourself.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

It would be one thing if you were winging with your squaddie the whole time and helped him out.  But by your own statement above, you were nowhere near him when he chose to engage Fugi.  He made his decision and unless he was screaming like a girl for help, you should have let him try to fight it out.

This is of course just my opinion of a guy who likes the fight; win, lose or draw.  :salute
