So why go to best of five then?

There were suggestions from the first tournament on to go best of five or best of seven.  I resisted so as to leave an element of uncertainty in the rounds; the "any given Sunday" syndrome.  However, several tournamants ago I aquiesed in the later rounds.  By then we're normally down to the better sticks so a longer series seemed to make sense but to still allow an element of uncertainty I implemented the revised selection rules.

The early rounds really are designed to allow even the inexperienced a chance.  If their opponent overlooks them or the plane selection is in their favor or they score the magic bb a three duel round can be over fast.  From the quarter finals forward we really are looking for the best of the best but the selection rules still allow the underdog a chance to steal it.

Hope that answers your question.

It certainly does.  I've been a part of all six of these tournaments so far, and personally I'd love to see it be best of 5 the whole way through (to my own detriment, as Perdweeb probably would've won our fight given the extra rounds).  I hope ya take it into consideration for future brackets.

When are you free next week, Shida?

Perhaps Saturday would be best? I'm 7 hours ahead of Aces High time (the little clock in the top right there), but I often have trouble playing in the evening, especially late evening. What times would suit you Krup? Sunday is also possible if you are busy on Saturday.

Happy Friday Pipz!

Not all that important, but I wasn't asking you.  BE's response is the only one that matters.

i dont think there was a need to be ugly with him.

he was simply trying to help out.

as we all know BE works long lame hours at work and cant answer a lot of these questions till late or the next day

Ooof, that's 10:00pm - 5:00am my time, way past my bedtime Krup.

Shall we provisionally say Saturday, about what time do you normally get up?
