The RCAF 411 Squadron (County of York) would provide any RAF, RCAF, RAAF squadrons with escort.

A good book on flying Lancaster is "A Thousand Shall Fall"  by Mury Peden.

He flew Whimpys, Lanc III,  and B17s.

Excellent book!
