There have been several threads on the subject in this part of the board. I don't remember the last final outcome or version of Linux they were doing it with but several people had it running AH but again I do not remember and just haven't searched for it recently.

There were a few posts a while back about successfully running AH under Wine.  Seems like a dual-boot Linux/Windows might be simpler.

WINE is still fairly inefficient, dual boot is best.

I use Linux as my primary operating system. I use Windows for gaming.
This is simply my preference as it leads toward far less headaches.

I use LINUX as my primary operating system, including Aces High Version 2.12.4. (about 1.5 years old now). I tried to get a newer version of Aces High running under LINUX, but it gave me some trouble and I lost interest, since I also have Windoze systems that support it well. I suspect it could be done using some variation of the approach I used.

I published EXACT, full details of what I did to switch to LINUX from Windows, using Aces High as the most advanced target application, here:

Since that time, I've updated to a later version of PcLinuxOS (V2009.1) with success, and it also supports Aces High V2.12.4. One problem: I have never been successful getting the Mission Editor to run under Linux, so I use Windoze for that too.

If I understood right the 8-player hosting was negotiated through HTC servers and outside LAN. If there ever was a LAN option then I must have forgot already.

As it turns out, Version 2.12.4 is the best for LAN H2H work and the best for offline missions. This is explained here:
