v-6 lumina, was a decent car. chevette.......eehh........i never worked on the chevy luv trucks, so i don't know. everyone i knew that had a vega had v-8's and they kicked ass.

 anf fyi.......the nova's didn't have a frame.

My last car was a 99 Lumina LTZ with the 3.8 V6.  It was a great car that I really liked.  It lasted me for years and had nothing go wrong with it at all.  It finally got taken out by the girlfriend driving it to work when it had a coolant leak.  It was a really good, solid, tough car.

Trabant 601 wins, hands down. I actually own one    27 hp, max speed 50mph, small like nuthing else (maybe Polski Fiat 126p), and always goes kaputt. Anyone seen the fil Black cat - whit cat by Emir Kusturica? Its a  hog eaing a Trabant 601 couse its made from paper. I also own a Lada Niva, but that car rocks, best off-road machine, never got stuck in mud with it.

When I met my wife she had a 1991 Lumina four door with the V-6. I put five fuel pumps in that car.

1) you did it wrong
2) you got defective pumps(highly unlikely)
3) she had a habit of running the tank dry.

correction.......4 possibilities......

 I presume you work on cars for a living? thus, i can also presume that you know why the fuel pump is placed in the fuel tank?


 actually, i think the dude's fishing.


 i also forgot that he could've been replacing the pump, and leaving a restricted fuel filter in place. that'll kill a pump in short order too.

 i've driven luminas, i've worked on em, and never seen a person unhappy with their ownership of a lumina....even that ugly assed lumina apv, which i don't personally like.
 i can't so much say the same of some of my friends/customers that own.....ooooo.....i dunno.......audi a-6, audi tt......well....pretty much never met a person that didn't regret their purchase of an audi.......but that's not what we're talking about.

Every time time you  say "I've done this and that"  which do you a lot , doesn't make true. As a matter of fact if someone self proclaims himself as "awesome" car specialist ,again which you do that a lot than most likely his skill is below average:) You need to dial it down.
FYI fuel pump located inside the fuel tank  mainly because it is less likely to start a fire, there is no oxygen. It's not for cooling. There are older cars with external fuel pumps, they don't overheat.

the intank pump is indeed in there for cooling. there is also oxygen in the tank. it's in that funny thing called air.

 the design of the pump dictates where it's mounted. the small size of most pumps subtracts from its ability to shed heat....thus....place it into a naturally cold liquid.
 there are plenty of fords out there that use frame mounted pumps, with never a problem. we put them on hot rods too. these pumps are significantly larger than the ones located inside the fuel tank.

 and i've never said i'm "awesome".  i say what i say based on 28 years of experience of working on anything that fits in my bays.
