See Rule #4
You know ,I've been more or less polite with Cap because he seems to possess car knowledge, but you...Please in future spare me that Heresy. I'll never post anything negative about Cap if Cap himself explains him what evap is really for.

You sure are making a ton of assumptions there.  Have you tried asking him questions first?

I might be old, but asking questions seems to be the best way to establish a solid intellectual exchange.
You the same way Skuzz. It's impossible to prove you wrong.

In fact, it makes me wish I knew more about mechanical stuff and cars so I could actually help with the race car instead of cleaning, grinding tires, and working the jack.
Josh, just remember that the tires are one of the most important items for dirt track cars.

I try my best not to make assumptions about things.  It is quite possible to prove me wrong, when I am wrong.  I have no concerns in admitting when I am wrong.

I also try to make sure I make it clear when I state an opinion, versus a fact.

There is one thing I note about you.  There have been times when semantics was more the issue, rather than the actual topic.  That is my observed opinion.  Only you would be able to shed any light as to why that may be.

I am guilty of the same thing, from time to time.  Either from reading too much into what was said, or not reading enough into what was said is what triggers it for me.

Let me rephrase myself,I post negative crap when he's wrong.  Old timers always have difficulties learning new things. New cars are basically computers on wheels.
I said it before i admit that  i will never be able to compete with him in Genaral car knowledge, welding skills. There's plenty old school tricks that he probably knows and i don't, but when it comes to new stuff he's little behind. It's no surprise. To run bussines, provide for family, parents not getting any younger theres is just no time  or desire to learn all that crap.

trust me.......i know whatr i'm doing.....and i know what i can't do too.......

i had already installed the entire driveline from my wrecked 89gt(low 12 second car) into my 78 fairmont futura. everything. including the EEC4.

if i thought i had the money, i'd be on the phone to factory 5 myself........

Well, we have two big gatherings coming up.  The state wide gathering in San Marcos is coming up, and then we have the annual race event at Texas Motor Speedway in College Station.

The San Marcos gathering is the largest of its kind (I am pretty certain of that).  We expect around 140 Cobras to be there.  The College Station gathering is smaller, as it is more for racing than anything else.  Looks like a Corvette club is scheduled to be there the same time.  Last year it was a Porsche club.  Should be a hoot!

I have been busy getting my work space in order to start my personal build.  The engine is almost done.  First dyno pass yielded 576HP @ 6200RPM and 543 ft/lbs of torque at 5900RPM.  Not bad for a street engine (389ci Windsor with Cleveland mains : i.e. Ford's BOSS 351 block).  I am going to dial back the cam a bit to move the torque curve lower.  I know it will reduce the horsepower, but I would rather have a flatter curve, starting earlier, than what I have right now.  I figure two more tests and I will have what I want.

Then again, I am bouncing between the Twisted Wedge and AFR heads, so it may take a couple more runs.

It will be enough to motivate the 2200 pound car to a reasonable level of acceleration and speed.  I am dropping a 6 speed Tremec behind it with 3:73 gears (9 inch Ford).  If I can get the rear end to hook up, it should go down the road quite nicely. :)

And in side news, I went down to Houston a few weeks ago to do a complete rewire of a Cobra.  It was a mess.
