Continuation War
« on: February 25, 2011, 11:21:43 AM »
Judging from the performance charts, the I-16s and HurriIs of the Russians should try to engage the endless hordes of Brews they will face between approximately 5 and 15K. This will give them the best chance. I urge everybody flying for the Russian side to be patient, grab altitude, and work as a team to make this first frame as even as possible.
"Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture, torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals."

I like this setup so far. I-16 vs Brewster makes for a pretty great match. Was flying earlier this evening and had a blast. I must say that the P40 seems to be at a significant disadvantage unless flown conservatively. I must say, the LA5 will come into rotation and dominate most of the fights methinks.

I see your " true: Brewsters are stupid  ;)  "

and go all in with :

and a little extra  ;)

Over all, the Brewster is surprising in being quite competitive with the A6M2, and superior to the Hurricane Mk.I. It is a real threat to all other early war types.

My regards,

BC,

With newer versions that HTC has put in place, some of the old maps, including the FinRus map that this WOULD have been run on, have been removed from the servers until some kind soul volunteers his time to run through the numerous checks and fixes possibly needed to allow the maps to return to servers.

In short, maps are short in supply if you hadn't noticed.  This is magnified for the AvA which has a small following and would suffer from using any map larger than 256 x 256.  The site that Shane pointed you to is full of great help and advice on how to do one / volunteer to help the cause.  MrMidi and USRanger, with many other talented map makers share their expertise and answer question in that forum.

bc, what it boils down to is that the smaller maps are more conducive to good fights. while i don't like looking at the same map over and over either, its a what we have for the time being. the terrain team is working hard to make new maps, both for the MA's and some more customized ones, to be used in the SEA or the AVA. until such time that we have more to chose from, we will sometimes run the same map several weeks in a row with different planesets. we apologize for any inconvenience.
