Gentleman,
This will be my last month where I will be available to run any epic missions for awhile, as I will be headed to Dallas in April to begin my upgrade training for Captain. That being said, I would like to run some "memorable" mass EPIC B-29 raids against the Knight and Bishop strategic targets before I have no personal time left. We are beginning to experience the fallout of the upcoming pilot shortage at my airline, which will continue to be exacerbated by mass retirements and federal legislation that will go into effect August 1st, 2011. All of our captains that are on "reserve" status are flying 95 - 100 hours a month, currently you are only allowed to fly 100 hours a month for a domestic U.S. part 121 carrier. This stipulation is obviously causing the majority of our pilots to "time-out" before the month is up. The ensuing shortage causes regular line-holders to be "junior-manned" or forced into overtime every month. Anyways, this is a peek into my crystal ball, foretelling my future when I get out of training in June. I most likely will not have the time available to pursue my "hobby," and would like to enjoy a few epic mass raids before I become a slave to crew scheduling.
These missions will be utilizing the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, and we will be employing it in the role it was meant for. Expect a
MINIMUM of a 2-3 hour high altitude mission, with fighter escorts. Specific targeting instructions will be issued for each participant. Hopefully, due to the perk point limitations we will only have "serious" bomber participants who are capable of hitting their assigned targets. Optimistically, I am hoping for at least 25-30 buff pilots, with the ordinance loads available we can accomplish total strategic annihilation with a minimum of 14 B-29 Formations in one pass. It is imperative that you download our strategic targeting maps created by Blauv for target assignment and identification. For those of you that have participated in the past you know I tend to run a very well organized and structured mission. Managing the workload for this type of operation is a very complicated task. I usually have Teamspeak, squad, and range channel going off in my ear as well as being inundated with about a billion pm's a second. To minimize the amount of workload on my end I am placing a link to our map pack below. I would also like to acquire a roster of participants so that I can set up pre-designated targets and mission plans. Obviously, by posting this notice I am also giving a heads-up to our foes, and expect to see opposition to our missions, my .50's and oh look...one 20mm get thirsty for blood too...
