Gentleman,

This will be my last month where I will be available to run any epic missions for awhile, as I will be headed to Dallas in April to begin my upgrade training for Captain.  That being said, I would like to run some "memorable" mass EPIC B-29 raids against the Knight and Bishop strategic targets before I have no personal time left.  We are beginning to experience the fallout of the upcoming pilot shortage at my airline, which will continue to be exacerbated by mass retirements and federal legislation that will go into effect August 1st, 2011.  All of our captains that are on "reserve" status are flying 95 - 100 hours a month, currently you are only allowed to fly 100 hours a month for a domestic U.S. part 121 carrier.  This stipulation is obviously causing the majority of our pilots to "time-out" before the month is up.  The ensuing shortage causes regular line-holders to be "junior-manned" or forced into overtime every month.  Anyways, this is a peek into my crystal ball, foretelling my future when I get out of training in June.  I most likely will not have the time available to pursue my "hobby," and would like to enjoy a few epic mass raids before I become a slave to crew scheduling.

These missions will be utilizing the Boeing B-29 Superfortress, and we will be employing it in the role it was meant for.  Expect a MINIMUM of a 2-3 hour high altitude mission, with fighter escorts.  Specific targeting instructions will be issued for each participant.  Hopefully, due to the perk point limitations we will only have "serious" bomber participants who are capable of hitting their assigned targets.  Optimistically, I am hoping for at least 25-30 buff pilots, with the ordinance loads available we can accomplish total strategic annihilation with a minimum of 14 B-29 Formations in one pass.  It is imperative that you download our strategic targeting maps created by Blauv for target assignment and identification.  For those of you that have participated in the past you know I tend to run a very well organized and structured mission.  Managing the workload for this type of operation is a very complicated task.  I usually have Teamspeak, squad, and range channel going off in my ear as well as being inundated with about a billion pm's a second.  To minimize the amount of workload on my end I am placing a link to our map pack below.  I would also like to acquire a roster of participants so that I can set up pre-designated targets and mission plans.  Obviously, by posting this notice I am also giving a heads-up to our foes, and expect to see opposition to our missions, my .50's and oh look...one 20mm get thirsty for blood too...

Heck lets attack them both.  The buffs will have enough fuel and ords, why not.  Could be an issue for the escorts though but why not rearm and catch back up.

Put me down for a 47N Swoops!

Good news for me...bad news for super epic mission.  I got a call from the training department today saying that they are moving up my training date to the 10th of this month instead of the proposed April 1st date.  So...I have a toejamload of stuff to get accomplished before next week.  I am hoping to run the one next Tuesday evening on the 8th...and then I will possibly be around for the 15th but my ground school is starting on the 21st of this month so I will not be around for the next two months while I'm in long term training.  So it looks like this next Tuesday night maybe my last night on AHII for a while.

I've sworn off bombers but happy to fly escort. What are the escorts flying?

I've read through this a couple times. When and where do you need escorts? If you do not want to post that info would you mind PM'ing me? I am with Loose Deuce, we only fly fighters, only fly Rook. I am not trying to gain info to disrupt your mission but simply wanting to make certain I am in uniform at the right time.

I think the title should be "Epic" Epic Titanic Tuesday... to be more in keeping with our times.

Seriously......

If you really like posting missions, just fly Bishop and post them.
Posted missions on TT regularly get 20-30 participants.

If I had a gun with 3 bullets and I was locked in a room with Bin Laden, Hitler, Saddam and Zipp...  I would shoot Zipp 3 times.

He is a good planner...it is going to be missed when he doesn't get to plan his missions....I like coming across these....not often(timezone) but when you do they are good...and you nearly always get a salute if you take some down or visaversa

I should be on around 7:00 p.m. Central tomorrow to begin planning.  I have my ATP written 121 exam tomorrow...so hopefully I pass that then I'll at least be in good spirits for the mission.  Hope to see you all there!
