"ROAD TO RANGOON" - 2Q Scenario Announced
« on: March 06, 2011, 12:34:17 AM »

In this Aces High Scenario, the RAF, RAAF, USAAF and AVG forces are defending Burma from the Japanese horde which is conquering all before them.  Flying Hurricane Mk I's, P-40B's, P-40E's, and Brewster Buffalos with little support and no reinforcements in sight they try to maintain air superiority over the vital port of Rangoon.  Rangoon is the vital link in the supply chain to the Chinese forces fighting the Japanese.

The IJAAF (flying Ki-43s (A6M2's), Ki-44s (A6M5b's), G4M1 Bettys, and Dinahs (Bf-110C's)) have taken bases in Siam and are setting up for a bombing offensive against the vital port.

Pilots get two lives in aircraft and unlimited lives as gunners. There will be four frames , each lasting 3 hours.  Start time will be 3:30pm Eastern US Time on Saturdays.

This is a remake of the classic "Rangoon 42" scenario with a few changes as we have different planes available now.

Schedule for this Scenario is as follows:

Other than the fact that the Japanese have to have too many plane substitutions, this one looks great. Really wish we had the planes to run this one the right way.

I will be there, sake in hand, and ready to defend the Japanese empire.

Well as much as the current plane substitutions are regretful, its overall better than the original runs in that we are not using Spit Is, A-20s, SBD-5s and F4Fs on the Allied side.

Ki-43s and Ki-44s had light MG loadouts and the Ki49 wasn't as impressive as our in-game 110C. The Brewster couldn't really out turn zekes like ours can.

I know you've made the best choices possible, but I still dislike how it's almost all substitutions.

At least we have the one major improvement now: The G4M1 type 11. That really does change things.

I wouldn't mind doing the scenario, but I start to get busy in the spring which will take me offline. I might walk on, but I just can't stomach putting 5 more Saturdays on hold (particularly at 3pm) now that the weather is getting nicer.
