Will there be a progressive planeset as there is in battle of Germany?

No. Frankly there isn't enough of a planeset to pull it off. There's also not enough time. Rangoon was a short time span early in the war. BoG spans over a year in the defense of Germany at the end of the war.

They don't really compare.

cc Krusty, I saw P40Bs and P40Es, and A6M2s and 5's. Made me think that it might be similar to BoG. :salute

my guess is that the P-40Bs will be reserve planes only, like how SBDs (as buffaloes) were used in Rangoon '42 as reserves

Didn't the AVG fly Bs and Es in the same time frame, I'm sure that being over seas they didn't get all new planes at the same time.

Actually they're the heavy hitters. They are one of the more coveted rides in the Rangoon scenario (B or E). Even though they only have 2x 50cal in the nose, against A6M2s those are far better than .303s from hurr1s

EDIT: Last Rangoon I got to fly with the P-40Bs. It was a unique experience! I just wish it could have been against Betty bombers (Ju88 subs) and Ki43s at the time.

They will most likely have a squadron of both.

There were certain changes since the last Rangoon... Game code back then only displayed the first 32 or so planes (on any side) and outside of that only dots would display regardless of con distance. Also the massive lag when the axis CO inevitably ordered 100 planes to cover the bombers all in 1 sector. So many cons, so muc lag, I flew right THROUGH the formations looking for the bombers and could not spot them despite flying past them.

The game code has changed since then so hopefully it won't be so bad. But I think we need some rules changes about amassing all planes in 1 keypad.
