Radar Bug
« on: March 07, 2011, 03:42:56 AM »
See that red dot by my nose on the map. There was no plane there.

Here is a recording, which shows that there was nothing in the area. In this recording you can also hear that Sidious sees the dot on the map, but does not see it in reality.

What altitude were you at? He could have been flying at an altitude so
high that he wouldn't have shown in the film.

I was low, 1 or 2K

How high could he have been not to appear in the recording? He also did not move for about 5 minuets. I started the recording after I noticed that there was something wrong with that dot, the recording also laster 3 minutes.

I suppose most B-29s fly around 30k, at your altitude I'm positive he wouldn't
have been in the film. Him 'hovering' there however, may be something worth
looking in to.

I see you're at sector 10,10.  That's the middle of every map, and where all dots first appear as the map populates when you enter an arena.  Have you also noticed that when someone on your vox frequency gets sent to the tower and transmits right away, that he momentarily shows at his last position before jumping back to the spawn on the runway?

Whether it's a bug or not, I'm not sure...but it's a common and known anomaly.

Right, but that was at least 30min after I entered the arena.

The radar in the 10,10 sector has been broken longer than AH2 has been around. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it is only half-broken (showing dots and counters as pilots are transported to the runway) and sometimes it's so broken that there can be 50 people in the arena and it'll be jumping the counters up and down so fast you'd think someone left their techno on in the sector.
