How to get the B-29 sight accurate.

Thanks for Vlkyrie1 for confirming my suspicions before I ran any tests.

Looks like, regardless of alt, you just need to be +5 mph True Speed over your Calibrated Speed. 

Will run a few more tests at other altitudes to double check my findings.

First two runs look good.

Latest test batch. Hmmm, looks more like +3 over.
Of course there are ALOT of variables I'm not accounting for. Which makes me leary of the results myself.
The alt and calibrated speed are constant respectively to each altitude test. 
The calibrated speed is different over all three altitude tests. 280(5k), 335(27k), and 340(30k)

Most likely the final results wont be an easy "just go this much faster always"
but more of a "at x alt, go y true speed, and calibrate to z calibrated speed"

Boy you're all over the map there.

Have you tried manual calibration to see if that has the same problem? I wonder if you having to designate the target and track it provides the best speed accuracy in thsi case.

First go at making a complete speed chart for a specific altitude. From slowest speed at which you can maintain level flight, to maximum speed with 25% fuel, using 10 mph intervals.
Things that make you go HMMMMMMMmmmm.....



First two runs (OP) had me thinking it was a static offset. Now I'm finding that this Bombsight error is much more complicated. Not easily compensated with a simple fix.
This is beginning to fall into line with what Swoops found.

Slower speeds need a greater offset.
Should prove interesting to see how the offsets change as I test more altitudes.
