College History Class
« on: April 15, 2011, 12:42:14 AM »
I'm taking History 1302 this semester and we were talking about Nazi Germany and the swastika. Sadly most of the class had no idea what this was and the

teacher had to draw it on the white board. Ironically he drew it backwards.. I lol'd but didn't say anything. Now after drawing it he goes back and sits

down and continues his lecture. He forgets about the swastika being on the board and forgets to erase it. Now I have psychology a couple hours later in the

same room. When that teacher walks in and sees that swastika on the board he's just kinda stared at it and asks,"what the hell is this doing on the board!!!"

Luckily there was a couple of us from the history class in there and we explained why it was there. I got a great laugh out of it and figured you guys would

to  :devil

Even college professors get it wrong from time to time.

Thats true. The funniest part of it all was the look on my psychology professors face when he saw that on the board. Absolutely priceless  :rofl

That is funny.  :lol

However, I feel that you should have corrected the teacher that drew it backwards. People pay big money to get an education, it should at least be done thoroughly and with the correct information.

I had a science teacher tell me once that tornadoes are formed from really high winds.

Really wish a teacher would tell me that. I don't know every detail of tornado genesis but I could give that teacher a pretty lengthy explination of how a tornado forms, lives, and dies lol!!

Sadly many professors are professors because they could not make it on the outside in the real world.

If they are a full professor they earned it and made it a point to earn it. Takes a bunch of time and work to become a full professor.

History class would always have some sort of multimedia production that required rolling down the movie screen like a window shade.

One of the kids (in gradeschool) would make really funny drawings on a large piece of paper in crayon depicting a scene from an earlier history lesson and tape it to the screen before rolling it back up.

It was comedy gold and the teacher even liked it.

Later on in high school, it was centerfolds, of course.

Time and work but not in the field. Only in the books. Otherwise they'd be more intelligent.

I might add that there should be a basic rule that to teach in the US they need to be able to speak English well.

I would advise against correcting a college professor.  It has been my experience that many professors, especially if they hold a Doctorate, have rather large egos that don't tolerate being corrected in public.  These professors do have power over their students, and I wouldn't put it past any of them to get a little "payback" when grading assignments.

My advice is to make a mental note of the error, know that you know the truth, and maintain a low profile until you complete the course and escape from the moron's sphere of influence.

People pay big money to get a diploma and meet their spouse.  Going to college is a terrible waste of money if all you want is an education ;)

Good advice, some of you entering school to listen to this.
