like a weird mix not as good lookin as your blues but aren't the same set up as the greens.

Blue pants with a black top?  It just doesn't fit.  Black pants would have looked much better and completed the stoic look.  Look at the first picture, if she had been given simple black pants or a skirt, it would have looked great.  Instead, you see these awkwardly placed blue pants that seem like they were whimsically pulled out of the closet.

Welcome to the world of special use uniforms.  It's not supposed to make sense but look professional.  Sad thing is if I remember correctly the soldier has to pay for his blues out of pocket.

@Penguin.  That's a navy blue blouse, not black.  Similar to the navy blue / royal blue combo of the Marine Dress Blues.

You guys should really ditch the name tags and all that other extra bling.  Just rank and ribbons...

We may be talking about different pictures.  I'm talking about the black lady in the far upper left.  Unless there is something very, very wrong with the color balance in that picture, her shirt is very dark grey/black.

What I found is that the bow tie is worn after retreat. Beyond that I have no clue.

You want a great uniform? Look up the U.S. Navy Yankees. Sadly those have just been removed as an approved uniform... :(

Berets aside - I can tell you that a well turned out uniform still gets the girls going...

I work in operations at Sydney Airport, and this morning a slightly lost uniformed USAF master sergeant walked into our office. Seems he was on his way to Rockhampton for an exercise or training and was stranded in Sydney airport for at least 24hrs. He had a heap of gear and cases so was asking if he could borrow the phone so he could call a hotel or something. We said we could do better than that - we had the phone number for the nearby local US military post office which is staffed by USAF personnel. We called them, and he spoke to them and they sent someone to come pick him up.

But in the 40 mins he waited in our office that guy was never alone! The girls in our office fussed over him, offering him coffee, magazines, snacks & asking him about his service life etc...he made such an impression that after he left I heard from a few of the girls that unfortunately for him they found out he was married - because theres no doubt he would've had a few offers for a place to stay that night.
