I've checked the numbers (several times) and don't criticize me if they weren't produced in numbers. They were used in North Africa. They fought in the Battle of Malta. Also, in the Invasion of Sicily. There they often quarelled with Spit V planes.

Characteristics:
Crew: 1
Length: 27ft 5in
Wingspan: 36ft 1in
Height: 10ft 4in
Wing area: 219.58 feet squared
Empty weight: 5,500lb
Loaded weight: 7,231lb
Engine: 1 Alfa Romeo RA 1000 RC 41-la Monsone 1,175 hp
Max speed: 337mph
Range: 684mi
Rate of climb: 2,951ft/min
Service Ceiling: 36,090ft

Armament:
2 Breda Safat 12.7mm Machine Guns in upper cowlings
2 7.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns in wings
1 600lb torpedo on the center
*2 MG151/20 20mm cannons in gondolas*

As I said in the Re.2005 post we need more Italian aircraft. Also, it saw combat in North Africa to the Invasion of Italy. They did mention about 2 100kg or 250kg bombs on the wings.

I believe the only bomb it carried was on a single center rack. It is an interest airframe, to be sure. Relatively rare, but definitely meets the criteria.

It had 2x 12.7mm cowling guns and optional underwing gunpods. The wing guns were in gondolas and (if I recall) could also carry MG151/20 cannon, but like the Bf109 slowed the plane down and degraded performance. I think you would have the option of 7mm or 20mm gunpods if included in AH. Depends on how common those 20mm were.

Although this had more produced than its predecessor, I still like the idea of the Re.2000 also. With that big radial it just looks cool. It would be a way of getting another IT fighter/bomber but also including a P-36 (which is basically what the Re.2000 was copying) stand-in.

The 12.7s had 800rpg and the 7.7s had 1200rpg. (Doubting that.) The later 52 models of the 20mm came out in gun pods. (Night-fighter variant.) Also, I think the Re.2000 would be another nice addition. (Along with the P-35) *fixed*

Re.2000 design was influenced by the Seversky P-35. It had nothing to do with the P-36.

Well now that that problem is solved, I'm using the Serie III specs for the Re.2001. Also, the Serie IV was drop tank capable. The Serie III was able to carry 1000lbs of bombs. (Unfortunately, it doesn't say where they were fitted.)
