nobody in their right mind uses an online bios update tool...  :O  ...where have you seen one of those? you're right that would not be a good thing...download to disc then run is the only way to do it.

I had a purge on my pc and deleted lots of nonsense etc

Ran Driver sweeper and it came up with Amd/Ati drivers etc, as been mentioned i will have to be careful what i delete :pray

i am the first to admit i am pc ignorant.

In regards to window 7 i have been told its a better OP than Vista and thought it would kill two birds with one stone as they say :old:

The 12v output i presume can be tested on the second 6 pin plug thats not being used? :old:

just look at the label zack...the +12v rating is what you want to look at. that's what the mfg has it rated at, not necessarily what the true output is...however, that 560gtx requires a minimum 24 amps on the +12v leg and it's supposed to be connected to the system using 2 6pin power connectors, not just one.
