I know exactly who I would love to see lead the Alpha Team...

And I would pour every ounce of possible effort into to helping him...

I am crossing my fingers he steps up and takes on the role....

If he does...great...if it is somebody else...I will commit just the same...

<---- crossing my fingers

Salute

There will be an announcement this weekend on the COs.  Team Alpha has confirmed, Team Zulu still needs a CO.

ALERT BREAK ALERT:

Allied Commanders in Australia  are convinced that an Imperial Japanese Navy attack on Port Moresby is imminent.

Yesterday afternoon two Japanese Submarines were spotted patrolling East of Babinda in shoal waters and they eluded Allied intercept efforts....Japanese submarines were also spotted south of Port Moresby off of a Hula Point....these are the latest events in a series of aggressive penetrations of Imperial Japnese Naval Forces...and are inductive of the hostile intent of Tokyo towards the peaceful and innocent citizens of Port Moresby...

Aerial and coastal reconnaissance North and East of New Guinea confirms that the IJN is massing a naval invasion fleet with its sights set on Port Moresby...several Japanese Aircraft Carriers were spotted north of New Britain either making ready to put to sea...or under way..Coastal Watch reports numerous IJN aircraft have been shuttled into Lae...both fighters and bombers...along with supplies and support...these aircraft are a mere 15 minutes from striking the citizens of Port Moresby...

If Moresby falls....the Australian North Western Coast is next...

The fate of  Western Civilization hangs in the balance...

We are about done discussing changes to it.  Should be out tonight or tomorrow morning.

Its 95%+ the same as last time, with the KI67 Scout being replaced by the G4M1, the land based dive bombers on both sides being replaced by twin engined bombers (G4M1 and B-25C). 6 additional fighters based at Moresby and Lae for each side, and the addition of hangars at a few bases as targets.

We had intended on running another event this time, but some difficulties arose on a specific item which was essential to the success of the new design, so it got postponed.

After reading the write up and changes...

This running is radically different from the last running

Though the changes might seem subtle on their face...the impacts will be profound and change the entire nature of required prosecution

My two cents

Interesting, so none of the B25 squadrons can use formations. This should be fun.  :D

B25 CAN use formations in the bombing roll

NOT in the scouting roll

Same goes for the Betty

# B-25C bombers must be glass-nose models, no formations allowed. Also they may not use the 3 - 1000 lb bomb option.
# B-25C scouts (no formations) must be glass-nose models and must jetison bombs before takeoff.

ROFLMAO @ Babinda!

Seriously, as quaint as the place is, it wouldn't be a first choice for position reporting.

It is a railway siding, sugar mill and a pub:)  I'm guessing a topographical feature such as an island or cape might be more typical.  Good stuff though! :aok
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

My philosophy in regards to the wildcat vs. The zero is if you are in a wildcat, you better be going in with a buddy or you're dead, because as good as I am at evasives in this bird, I can never shake off a zeke unless I have a wingman. No matter what you do, scissors, loops, lazy rolls, the zeke will always stay on you. I always say in events like this, SA is the #1 killer of zekes
