Lan and 8 player

What happened to the 8 Player option in the menu of Aces High 2 (v 2.24)? :uhoh
I always liked that function but now its gone and I dont now what happened. I dont play online but I always played it at LAN parties with friends.
Any info on what happened or where that function is now will be appreciated.

Now gone? That function was removed literally years ago and will not come back in that form. 8 player mode will return in online arenas hosted by players on HTC server, but no LAN play.

I think 2.12 Killed LAN and Free 8 player H2H. I think the last exe install I have that has h2h and Lan is ah2113.exe w/ AHHIRES211.EXE I run both the 2.11 and current version from separate installs.

I think 8 player and Lan got pulled sometime between August 2007 and March 2008

Essentially we lost it because some one was being an Adam Henry and trying his best to Pee in Dale's Lucky charms.

Dale not wanting to see his baby and lively hood wind up going the way of War Birds II and Warbirds freehost (Alex Inozemcev and Sergey Hlupnov did it to warbirds, not sure who tried to do it to AH) decided to pull the plug on on lan and h2h.

I would love to see Lan come back before h2h but with VPN I don't think thats likely.

One thing I'm wondering is .... will 8 player be free or will it be only available to subscribers? or will it just require a subscriber to start and stay in 8 player arena?

I think the latter would be best. Dale still gets at least one payment and we get to vulch our friends and kids. I can also ditch 2.11!

i remember 8 player, first place i started AH out in way back in 06.

i believe someone said they took it down because of a glitch/hack which aloud people to bring the unlimited fuel/ammo/bombs option from 8player into the main arenas.

8player had some of the best map's ive ever seen  :( (loved the giant U.S map with all major military bases at there locations)
