what resolution you running?

what shadow texture size you using?

are you using the drivers from the CD or XFX website? which is currently 11.5 for XFX cards ( CCC  & display driver )

what CPU, Memory & OS are you using ( can it push the card??? )

I also have an XFX card, except it is the 6870 1 Gig GDDR5 version with 2 cooling fans...... I just updated my drivers with the AMD/ATI 11.6 reference drivers and got better performance than I got with the 11.5's..... that XFX loaded from their support website

Without any other specs of yuor rig, a couple of things come into mind:

Is your processor capable to feed your new card?

Same about your power supply.

yes, many useful settings to play with. Maybe wont be as much effect with AH but for other games with way more advanced graphics it helps you a LOT.

Been looking at the overclocking feature in CCC and views on doing this?

Heck what you cant run with the best single gpu ever??
If you wanna oveclock, try the RiveTuner. The CCCs oc feature is very limited.

If you're not running high-end sandy bridge system, your graphics card is CPU limited and overclocking won't achieve anything.

Doesn't hurt to download updated drivers for the videocard.

Is it always exactly 24 fps in AH no matter what?  That sounds like some HD movie frame rate setting.  If so, try checking Disable Vsync in AH Video Options.  If the fps goes way up then it's not a performance issue it's some kind of weird configuration issue.  Don't forget to uncheck Disable Vsync again, it's bad to run with that on.

Heya 715,

zack got it figured out..... his monitor was connected via HDMI when showing 24 fps ..... once he connected thru DVI it gave him his max 60 fps @ 1920 x 1080 screen res

he is happy and is able to have all graphics maxed out, without any issues now from what I can cypher out of his posts/replys

This actually hints to the direction of being in some 'movie' mode with 24fps, HDMI sucks for gaming. There's just too many unpredictable automations that can and usually will go wrong due to slight differences in standards and the fact TVs are not really meant to be computer monitors.
