In the interest of accuracy, I'd like to see the addition of the coffin-canopied version of the P-51B.

Also, an early version of the 51D without the tail fillet.

I was going to ask but I tried some Googling and found no straight answers, so I compared some images...

I'm assuming the area indicated in the image below, the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer where it meets the fuselage, is the tail fillet?

Oh, and yeah, I'd like to see a birdcage B as well, I think they're the best looking Ponies.

Yep that's the tail fillet, when the bubble canopy was introduced the P-51 lost some lateral stability the fillet was added to help address this (believe it was the same on the P-47's).  According to Dean the fillet was introduced on the D-5 production block and retro fit kits were shipped to squadrons in the field.

I can see the reason for a P-51B without the Malcolm hood, and we have the P-51C designation available.  I am skeptical that the P-51D without the tail fillet is sufficiently different from the P-51D with the tail fillet to really justify it being added.

You missed the obvious answer since Oboe was the OP.  Skins!

So why not get flamed for asking for more skins again?

Seeing that FSX West Virginian blew me away.  Very very cool looking skin and plane.  Want it bad, gotta have it.

And Fester's LOU IV is superb, but seeing the tail fillet on that skin has always bothered the Rain Man inside me.   Uhoh! 1 min to Judge Wapner!

And just throw a 4x20mm gun package into it and call it a done deal, amirite?  :D :noid
