offline practice missions
« on: June 23, 2011, 01:59:24 AM »
Is this no longer working?  I have tried to load some, followed the instructions, and I get nothing.

They just came out with the new editor after the last patch. I don't know if the previous missions will run now.

I have about 8 missions.  Just click the link in my signature.  There's a new one I just put on there last night, called Search & Destroy.
I'm waiting to do some more testing on it, before I post it on here though.
I know that Raphael and bbosen also have missions on here that work.

 :aok Good luck.

Hey, thanks Nurminen.   :aok
I should have the kinks worked out of 'Search & Destroy' and posted sometime tonight.

Nice work!  I dloaded and installed your US V Jap.  I do enjoy it.

Now if a few of the old ones could get converted, like Last Flight of Isoroku Yamamoto, This One Was Going to Be a 'Milk Run', or Early war BOB mission.

I have a friend who is looking at gettng into AH.  His exposure to the offline missions will be a great help.  He thinks, and I agree, that it will allow him some combat action that will increase his skill level and make on-line flying worth every penny.

About half of my missions still work, as described in this thread:

http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,313472.0.html

If your friend expects to spend serious time with offline missions, I recommend installing an old copy of Aces High V2.12.4 as described here:

http://techvideoreview.com/FlightSimMovies/AcesHigh/Ah2Missions/Ah2OfflineMissionsFullPage.htm

(Do that IN ADDITION to the latest, greatest copy for online use.)

If you can edit the mission using the current mission editor, you can change them.
If not, just let me know what you'd like changed and I can get on that, as I have
some free time today.

Well I'm not having much luck.  Essentially I'm trying to make one side all Axis planes and one side All allied planes.  Something to practice on for retraining my eye, testing CH setup, and FSO pre event practice.

Have you tried the Usa vs Japan mission.  In that one both sides are equally balanced as far as plane numbers go.
It'd be a lot easier to change the plane set in that mission.

not yet... I just got through ripping AH and all things related out of my system, reinstalling, then reinstalling stick settings, and blah blah blah (including blowing up my stick settings once), but it's much more stable and usable now.  Endurance was the first add on I tried.  I'll give it a look though :)
