forum&website try to download onto my computer?
« on: June 26, 2011, 05:27:17 PM »
as the title says, ever since a week ago aceshigh's forum page, and website each attempt to download onto my computer somehow.

i use chrome, and sometimes when i leave the forum page up, i'll click "show new replies to your posts" and instead of going to the normal screen, it goes to a white screen, which has the word "Download" at the top, then a giant list of hitechcreations links, and if i click on one of the links it pops up at the bottom that its downloading something (ive never let it finish downloading onto my computer, i click cancel, on account of not knowing what it is)

also, if i go to click aceshigh's main website from the Chrome's "most visited" sites list, instead of going to the webstie, it pops up on the bottom asking me if i wish to save Hitechcreations to my computer (and gives me a save/cancel option)

its been doing it alot frequently (done it twice this morning) to the point where i have to click out of my web browser to get it to stop.

anyone know whats going on or how to make it stop?  :salute

Sounds like you may have picked up a browser hijack virus?  Or perhaps you just need to try clearing your browser history and deleting your cache.

see all those "index" download tabs at the bottom?
those got there because when i go to click on pretty much anything on the forum page, it wont go there, instead it does that, downloads some index thing to my computer, then if i click them, says it needs to be opened using an internet source.

it just started doing THAT today tho. originally it would go to some white screen with the words "DOWNLOAD" at the top, then have a bunch of hitechcreations links, then if i clicked one. it would attempt to download something onto my computer.

it keeps messing up alot, so bad to the point where i have to exit chrome to get it to stop, then a little later it will start doing it all over again.

basically, it wont allow me to use any forum links from the page im on when i click it, merely downloads those indexs.
