Winnie The Pooh movie July 15th
« on: June 26, 2011, 10:53:38 PM »
I will definitely be seeing it with the missus get when I back to Alaska in August.
Please don't make fun of it. (saying Winnie has munchies kind of BS) Winnie The
Pooh meant a lot to me as well as several other people I know when we were kids.

Saw the preview in the theaters, I won't say I hate it cause I grew up on this stuff. But Doesn't every person get to an age where its just not what they watch anymore?

Yes, when you're between the age of 11 and 15 and think you have your life and the world figured out.
Then you start to really grow up. Then you begin to appreciate the simpler things in life, like the
sunsets and the mountains, the flight of the occasional bird, the grass blowing in a nice breeze, the
good old memories and even smaller things.. like the smile of a good friend or the taste of a drink you
always have but rarely ever truly enjoy.

But I digress. You will (hopefully) figure things out as you grow up.

Haha I'm 24 and I'll be watching it.  I loved Winnie the Pooh growing up.  I thought the previews seemed pretty funny.

I enjoy many simple things, like old stuffed animals I had since I was a baby I put on my shelves sometimes to get the dust off, or play baseball like I used to with my dad. I'm just more of a classic Disney with Mickey Mouse and Donald and Goofy.

Don't worry, next you'll be getting the age where you just don't care, so go out to the movies and watch what you'll enjoy during your free time.

Im glad they kept the artwork true and didnt overdo it with CGI.
As much as the story of pooh its the back ground artwork that makes me nostalgic. Brings flashback memories of the second grade way back in 1967-68. I was like 7 or 8
My teacher Miss Augustine, A hot brunette I was trying to set up with my uncle. My good friend Casey Jones (yes that was his real name) and I. We used to be known as "The Dinosaur Duo" because we were so into them. I finally learned out to ride my 2 wheeler! after frustrating the hell out of my father for the longest time to no avail. One day I just got on it and went like I was born to it.
Watching my younger cousin throwing the funniest temper tantrum I have to date ever seen.  Me and another cousin being chased by a local bully. Who was all of 11 years old but to us he was a monster. To get away we climbed up a tree where he just decided he'd sit down and just wait for us.

So we did the one thing that we could think of that was appropriate for the moment and the person.
Looking down on him sitting there from our lofty perch, We unzipped our flies and peed on him. Funny thing was. it was a few seconds before it registered and he realized exactly what it was we were doing. the change in facial expressions was priceless. From wiseguy I'll just wit for these two. To what the. then looking up and shock and disgust. He then ran home.

Dunno what happened because I never heard a word from my other about it even though our parents knew one another pretty well. But he never messed with me again afterwords

But back to school. It was also the year I had the measles and everyone in the class sent me a get well card. I remember thinking it wasnt a big deal at the time but everyone else certainly thought so.
Its also the last year I remember that we did the different fire drill. you see we had two back then. One where everyone lined up and in an orderly fashion went single file outside and waited for the all clear.

Then there was the other one. Where we all lined up and in an orderly fashion went down into the basement and stood under a sign that looked JUST like this one

"Doesn't every person get to an age where its just not what they watch anymore?"

You see its not just about the show. Its about your youth. Just from that brief preview those graphics brought back all those memories. When talking about school I could almost taste the paste all over again. Its about long forgotten memories remembered once again as if they just happened. As much as anything its the trigger mechanism that is able to do the next best thing to being able to go back again.

Cant say I'll be running to the theaters to see it but I'll certainly check it out when it hits DVD/on demand/movie channels
