How to back up joystick folder
« on: July 02, 2011, 10:27:30 AM »
Last night I had a major glitch that is keeping me from logging into the game, before I try to fix this issue I would like to backup my joystick setting so I can put them back when I get this issue fixed. How do I find and backup this folder ?

C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\stickdef

or

C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\settings

I back them both up, just in case.

While 100Coogn has covered your immediate question with reference to the settings folder, I would add that there are other folders worth backing up if you are in any way thinking of a re-install. e.g. Flims, skins and terrains, even sights if you have made or used some custom ones.

The settings folder is the most user intensive one as it contains all your head position saves, keyboard mapping changes, aircraft/vehilcle loadouts and of course your controller mappings to name a few!

I'd also back up the skins and squad nose art folders as well.

Thanks for help the guys, come to find out the issue was somewhere in my settings folder. When I first reinstalled game I moved my settings folder and my stick folder back before I went on-line and had the same issue, so I removed and reinstalled the game again and went on-line and it worked fine until I put my setting folder back. So the issue was in that folder and now I'm back up and getting killed. :airplane:

If you haven't trashed your messed up settings folder yet, Skuzzy may want to see it. He mantioned something to that nature in another thread somewhere.
