You know we asked around and we payed attention to what people were saying about not flying in the AVA because of no icons. The icons are back on and still the pro icon people are not coming in to fly but they never pass up a chance to take a shot on the BBS at those who prefer no icons. If you're not going to fly in the arena why bother getting in a huff over the settings?
Since we apparently accommodated several of the "I want icons on and I want 'em on now!" crowd who don't frequent the AvA, let's go back to the previous "no icon" settings. After all, "all icons on" are available in each and every other arena in the game and that's where the most vocal complainers are playing, if they play at all. It's as if we have dummied down for the minority to shut them up and then they dissappear.
When we had the no icon settings in place, there didn't seem to be a whole lot of complaining about it other than it was hard to get used to at first. But, then, most seemed to like the realism and challenge of it.
There have been recent posts stating that "no icon" fans can go to the player hosted arenas. Well that's certainly an option but, that has the effect of decreasing AvA participation when we are trying to increase it. I still submit that we had consistently larger numbers during the period of no icon settings.
