If I were to pick a "F-body" after 1982, I would probably go with the 1989 turbo trans am.
Sure the F-body is a cheap starting point for a really fast car build but the engine being being shoved under the cowl and the interior's lack of space is just not for me.
Car and driver put down a 13.4 quarter mile and it performed pace car duties in stock form where most all before had performance modifications to do that duty.
