Don't know about anybody else but my frame rate turned AH into a slide show when I tried to GV on this map, even after lowering graphic settings to help fix my problem.
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.

Sad that not many folks have taken notice of the new terrain.  I was hoping to get to try out that Urban Tank Warfare........ Where are all u tin can heads??? :neener:

Its been busy in there  Fri sat and sunday..

RGR its a heavy detailed map.. I turned my Vertical sync off and am getting an average of 125 FPS on it.. I have a mid range PC... But over all I think it depends on the pc video card ect when there is a high detail terrain like this....Unfortunately it effects some guys  differently .

Heck of a great map to fly on.. I love it.. But.. Remember the map is "heavy" so some may experience Frame rate hits..

BTW look out for a tank flare up NE of Leningrad also :)

Not a good idea.

A post way back from kbman that is still relevant.

"When you disable Vsync you still will not "see" anymore frames than your monitor's refresh rate despite your videocard's ability to draw them. Any frames rendered that exceed the refresh rate are simply dumped in the frame buffer and NOT displayed. Vsync off is only good for benchmarking to test the theoretical output of your card and can cause many visual anomalies or even rubber bullets in some extreme cases. Leave Vsync enabled for stable gameplay. It's probably the most common misunderstanding by many gamers about their video system, primarily because it's focused on bragging rights as to who has the fastest system."

So even if "excess" frames are being dropped, you're still not going to "see" any more than you already to with vsync enabled.

Thanks for the info shane. For what ever reason things seemed smoother when I did so.. Perhaps it was the placebo effect  :)..

....so....it's the monitor's refresh rate that's the culprit...?

Ive been flying bomb runs in there alot lately, and theres usually no one on when im in there past midnight, and i'd love to fly in the dark, if thats ok.  :salute

I've read about and heard the same thing.  Out of curiosity, does anyone have a monitor with more than a 60 hz rate?

I don't use it now but I have a vewsonic CRT that runs.. 100hz only a 21"...  I rather run a larger LCD screen @ 60Hz as a trade off for size over FPS..Still steady @60fps with VSync on..

I don't know why but still w V syn off My game tracks smoother for some reason when using track ir.. with out track ir I see no difference one way or the other...
I never have rubber bullets or anomalies of any kind, ever..

Perhaps it's just my configuration, so Ill consider my self lucky based on the information in the above post.. for me and my box using trak ir... the tracking seems to "drag" with Vsync on..

Here is an interesting read BTW..

pffft....I wouldn't know how to toggle my vsync anyway, even if it would help.

What alt did the Il2's usually start their attacks?
