I'll translate. WTF happened to the attack on the northern ammo/aa/whatever factories? While the Nightmares appreciate the opportunity to work on formation flying it's not what they're here for  :devil

They ran into a few jets.

I know VF15 became heavily engaged on the deck with P38s.  There were a few 51s high.  We thought the MOSS6s were coming but the 262s may have gotten them before they got too close.

Yeah... there were 38's and 51's over that target, but I think Perdweeb and his boys took out the Mossies before they got there.  The 38's were heavy it looked like, as there was SOME damage done to the factory... but it looks like our GREEDY GREEDY CiC took all the fun for himself  :D

Seriously though... great defense to all.  Not much left of them by the time they reached us.   :salute

Why were no bombers whatsoever seen in the north?

well, the 412th were on escort duty in our P51D's for the Mossies, and it looked like we ran into around 16 to 20 Me262's around 5,17 or 5,16 (somewhere up there).......... I mean their were 262's every where we turned around with several different allied groups fighting several different groups of 262's ranging in count from 2 to 5 262's each lil battle......

later on Drano and I got desimatted by a gaggle of like 8 to 10 109s and 190's after we both initially jumped on (3) 190's and was just about finishing them off , here comes like 8 or 10 more wailing on us both from high above..

very fun and intense battle we had........... but getting caught low and too slow was the end of Drano and myself, last night....

Had a blast in that last battle............. I was in a rolling scissors with like 4 or 5 109s/190s mixed together...... with 1 or 2 others making BnZ passes on us

fun fight Axis side  <S>

From what I can discern from the logs (its early, and I'm only half way through my first coffee):

Believe there were roughly 38 bad guys in Vcty of/around Northern factory ... Most did not get their bombs off...

- Sick Puppies (2x51Ds)
- 364th C-Hawks (10xMossies)
- 68th LLs (13x38s) ... 2 of these made it home with "1 pass, haul ass" at high speed  ... those that fought, died bravely
- Jokers 2 (5x51Ds)
- 353rd (8xMossies)

Believe all friendly squads in the north executed, as instructed, to near perfection ....

Kommando Nowatny 190s didn't see much action as they stayed with their assignment and sought out Buffs high ...(correct?)

VMF-222 were escorting the Mossies to 19 and were attacked by numerous 262's about half the way to target.  They were relentless and wiped out most of the mossies during a continuous 25 minute running battle as the Mossies valently continued to push to target.  I think there were only 2 , maybe 3 of the Mossies left when they put their nose down and pushed for the target in haste.  We got a bit behind them and lost visual before they attacked so I do not know how many actually made it.  When I finally arrived at 19 myself after regaining some alt (17k) there was a cloud of 109's and 190's that virtually wiped us out, quickly.  Just myself and one other escaped and ran home under continuous attack by 262's determined not to let us make it home.

If you did not have much to engage while formation flying over 19 it was not because of a lack of committment or effort on the allied part.

Personally, I really had fun this frame.  The coolest part was as I arrived at 19, watching a dozen 109's sweep from my right to my left with a bit of altitude and speed on me, almost in gun range I decided that a quick check of my 6 was in order because i was alone and saw at least 10 more 109's right there, 5 of them within D1000.  Grabbed my skirt, screamed like a girl, headed for the deck at maximum speed, controls frozen, only to pull out with less than 500 feet to spare.  And then came the running battle ALL the way home.

I gotta start taking screen shots.
Wag more, bark less.

There were only 4...

And yes we stayed high awaiting level bombers. To my knowledge, no B-26s or Moss16s were seen anywhere last night.
