Wing I will restate what I said in the other post. That is one gorgeous Jeep. The versatility and the fun of driving them have made them an Icon for many years.
Well done!
Thanks Hajo!
I've had my share of heavily modded Jeeps. I've resisted the urge to lift this Jeep. Being a daily driver, I decided to keep the ride height close to stock. The 33" tires and Spidertrax provided better ground clearance and a more stable track. Another factor is maintaining the fuel mileage to something close to stock. In heavy stop and go traffic, it manages almost 15 mpg. Local driving, with the occasional light and stop sign nets me about 19 mpg. On the open highway, mileage will vary between 22 and 24 mpg. 22 mpg in hill country, with 24+ on flat highways. Very reasonable, and much better than my '92 YJ Wrangler.
Factory equipment and mods* include: 6 CD changer, SiriusXM radio. Moab 17" mags. Heavy Duty Suspension (same as Rubicon). MOPAR tranny cooler*. Side air bags, Freedom top hardtop, Trektop soft top*, air conditioning, Vintage Jeep 4 Wheel Drive decals*. Hidden Hitch 2" receiver hitch with recovery shackle*. Floor and roll bar mounted fire bottles*. Recovery kit*. Quadratec grab handles*. Red Rock hood stickers*. SilverStar head lamp and driving lamp bulbs*. K&N air filter*. 3.73 gears, with Aussie Locker* on Dana 30 up front, with Dana 44 Trac-Loc rear axle. Olympic 4x4 rock rails*. Evap canister skid plate*. Cooper ST 285/70-17* (33x11.50-17) hybrid tires (mud and rock) with Spidertrax offset hub adapters*.
Overall, it's a very capable Wrangler, that still rides and handles close to stock, with adequate fuel mileage and bulletproof reliability to date.
