Strat run fail !
« on: September 20, 2011, 10:37:38 AM »
Flying along last night (rook), see a bunch of dots, maybe 15 bombers with escorts with alt, 26, 27 k probably, call it out on country channell, make my way to the front of the buff stream and am HO'n everything, blow through, coming back around for more when I hear Wiley laughing his butt off because the strats have retreated to the rear.  It seems they took a base near the strats about 2 minutes before their mission was going to drop.   :O  Absolutely hilarious.  Just wish I could have heard the gnashing of teeth on their country channel.  The formation of buffs then turned hard allowing the enemy fighters to engage them and pretty much wipe them out.

Sorry the strats moved just as you guys arrived, but it did crack my squaddies and I up.

I love this game......................... ..............

That was hilarious.

I was already at 28k following the dots and they were really close to dropping when the strats moved.

Of course, I feel thier pain because I once drove a tank 2 sectors to the enemy strats, got a good spot near a factory, and had dropped only two buildings when I suddenly found myself in an empty field as a train tracked my tank.

That would be my mission.  :D

We still hit your bases so it wasn't a waste. Much more fun when you guys found us though.  :devil

As for "grinding our teeth", I just let out a frustrated DAMMIT! on country channel then laughed it off. Everyone else was just like, "oh crap, oh wait,... we got 20+ other targets to choose from."  :lol

FYI we were not laughing at you guys just the circumstances you confronted.  Your original plan was very well done and very few were in position to thwart you all before the strats moved.

Well done sir  :salute , again please.

:salute To the single pony who found us and weaved through the formation.  :rock

And <S> to all who were involved. Did you guys think my spaced out formation was better than just a simple close knit one? I prefer spaced out for various reasons, but I suppose if we were tightly grouped, we wouldn't have been left floundering after the strats moved.  :cry

There was a Rook mission to the Bishop starts on the big-islands-with-loads-of-ports map last week that that happened to, actually.
A Rook who first flew 09/26/03 at the age of 13, has been a GL in 10+ Scenarios, and was two-time Points and First Annual 68KO Cup winner of the AH Extreme Air Racing League.
