Blank Screen

ok so my old video card was acting up. acted like it was fried. so i replaced it with a Nvidia 260GTX. got the drivers installed boot up the game and with in a minute or two my screen goes black. i have to hold power switch down turn tower off and reboot computer. any help would be nice.

Best guess is either the power supply cannot handle the card or maybe the video cable has malfunctioned.

The cable between the monitor and the card.  I also assumed you plugged in the power cable to the video card (internal).

that's a dell system, if it has the stock power supply it's not big enough. that video card requires 36 amps on the +12v leg, and you need 2 6pin power connectors from the power supply to power it up.
