Primary and secondary gun settings.
« on: September 28, 2011, 02:19:38 PM »
This suggestion won't apply to most planes, mostly because there is no need(all the guns are the same) - it applies to planes with optional gun additions to the aircraft. A good example is the 190 A8, where you can add 2x 30mm or 2x20mm to the gun packages.

In the war, it was a simple switch setting, which guns would fire primary and which fired secondary, currently if you take an A8 with the 30mm's they will fire with the 20mm's(secondary fire). I would like an ability to choose which guns fire primary and secondary, if I had a choice, I would set my primary guns to the cowl mg's and in-line 20's and secondary as solely the 30mm's to better utilize the gun packages and not waste ammo firing two different sets of guns that do not share similar ballistics.

It's a small suggestion but one I would have a lot of fun using. :)

according to the enlish translated 190a8 technical manual i have, the weapons selection is electric and has only 2 switches, switch 1 is inboard (cowl and inboard cannons) and switch 2 is outboard (outer wing cannons), the mk103, gondola mounted mk108, and gondola mounted dual 20mm cannons are outboard weapons. if you would like a copy of the full pdf to read, pm me.

I wonder if they could pull fuses to select individual guns.

Okay, so they had two switches. So they could do exactly what I wish for? Fire outboards only if desired?

didn't want to read the manual yerself hey?  :lol   i mentioned the 2 "arming" switches hoping you would want to find the info yourself. but in answer to your question, according to the manual i have the "a" firing button fired the fuselage and wing root weapons and the "b1" button fired the outboard weapons.

no idea why htc has the firing selection the way they are now. could just be for the sake of simplicity.
