Capture recognition
« on: October 06, 2011, 05:41:38 AM »
Now that we have the name in lights for landing bomber scores why cant we have the name in lights for the guy who actually got the troops to the room and landed safely?  Something like "Grumpy is the Hero at A16"  LMAO  ok thats a bit much but seriously we get our name in lights for just about everything else why not this too?  Maybe something as simple as "Grumpy captured "Insert base number"  Might motivate some of the attention seekers to stick around and not just bail after troops are dropped since it would require a successful landing to get the message!

T- 5 posts until one of the usual whiners appears in this thread to complain about the 'Xbox generation', and how they will unsubscribe to AH if anything is changed that might possibly encourage players to horde fields for a shot at worthless name in lights glory

Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.

Unwarranted would it be to thus "reward" a player with individual recognition for a base capture owing to the highest probability that he did not do so alone.  Rare is it for a solo troops driver to make the capture as most oft it is by the efforts of many vulnerable transports that make the capture; to say nothing of the ones that give cap and CAS to the troop runners.

True, but the guys that come in with heavy fighters to take out ord, ack, buildings etc dont get their name in lights like the bombers guys at 50k do that roam around the map dropping single salvos in the middle of town to get the OMG you got 7580470467 bomber points shown in lights.....  I agree it is a community effort but even as it stands some of the community gets recognition while others dont, this would be another step to getting everyone recognition.  Furthermore attack mode successful landings should also give a damage recognition for target value destroyed like bombers do.

i dunno grumpy, kinda reaching for it...what if there were several people dropping troops and only a few from each drop made it? next it will be supplies.

credit for attack mode would be a good thing.

How abbot we change it to you only get your name in lights when you log; all your efforts get posted in one big wall- O-text message that you never see but everyone else does?  I like this so much I'm gonna +1 myself.  :devil

LOL  i know its a stretch, just wanted to see what kind of responses I would get.  I do think the attack more credit should be put in though.

or how about upping the kill requirement to something like 3 kills  or 5 kills ( ace status )   before having their names in lights?

I would think this would promote more dog fighting, my personal opinion

Who are these guys who fly over fields in fighters and actually attack the field and town below them when all I see are 26 green dots over a field for 4 hours.

I check the field status and it's undamaged.

+1! And bombing a GV shouldn't be a "victory." I think air kills and vehicle kills need to be distinguished, and 4 kills for credit for air kills and 2 for ground.

I would think reversed on the numbers way easier to make tank kills with an airplane.....most of the time vs. air to air kills.
