texture packs
« on: October 08, 2011, 09:28:36 AM »
well, yeah. we can make sounds, we can make skins, but we cant make texture packs. no not for the planes and GVs but the ground and water CV's etc. Here let me use minecraft for example, you can make your own texture packs there, why not here?

You can, but they will NEVER be used in the MAs. As it is, some of the custom map they use in the AvA have custom stuff built in.

no not like that, like ones that ONLY YOU see, not changes in structer, but changes in the way the ground looks...., but rember ONLY YOU CAN SEE THEM, much like coustom sounds only YOU hear them

No, then people would use them to cheat. AW use to let you "edit" things seen only from your front end. Pink goons, brite red ammo dumps and such were the norm. No thankyou.

no. like HTC publishes texture packs and you can chose to use them, if you want to, this way ppl with good comps can get good textures.

They already have that. It doesn't scale up that far but it looks pretty good imo.

We already have two. High resolution and low resolution for both ground and water.

So I guess wish granted.

Really?  There's a high resolution ground and water texture pack?  The hires texture pack is not just plane skins?

Later tonight I'll take a few screen captures to show the difference, it is significant.

So is it just part of the normal hires texture pack or do I have to download something else?
