In 2005 (a drought year, by the way), rainfall for the North-NW regions was 1162.8 mm/m2. The "plains", which could be considered the areas of influence of the major rivers, had much less rain, thus, average rainfall for these plains were: Duero, 456.7 mm; Tagus, 391.7 mm; Guadalquivir, 358.4 mm; all of these below even the average for the peninsula on the whole: 491.4.
