Debrody - Me410

You were correct, Hungary built 158 Me-210 Ca-1, I was thinking Me-410 A-1 for some reason, shame I wanted a Hungarian skinned Me-410.

We might.... The 210 series already incorporated the 410's improvements by the 210C. The 410 was slated to be called the 210E except for political damage the name had gathered. The 210Ca took that and put in DB605 engines, not quite as powerful as the DB603s the 410 had but much closer to the 410 than the original 210A.

I think there's a solid argument for including 210Ca skins on the 410, whenever it should find itself in-game.

But did the Hugaries flew the Me-410?

The variant they flew was very similar to a 410A, is what I said. It was not like a 210A. Because they are close, it would be like skinning a F4F-3 for the F4F-4 plane in-game. There are some performance differences, but overall it's a close fit.

I understand that.  What i was looking for is did they flew Me410 as well.  I have been doing some deep research ont he 15th AF bombing missions in that area.  I never saw any thing on the fighters or bomber being engage by 410 but they where by the 210.  I think i saw something about IAR 80 attacking the bombers or fighters.

Ahh, sorry, I didn't get that from your post.

No, they didn't receive any 410s as far as I understand. They built their own 210Cs in their own factories under license, their own engines as well, and actually sent a percentage to Germany for Luftwaffe use. No 410s (barring maybe some 1-off prototype or test frame that I don't know about), just 210Cs.

Also keep in mind the US crews couldn't tell the difference between 210Ca and 410 for the most part. The airframes are very similar. It's possible that it happened, and crews just listed the wrong plane (like how they said IARs were FWs and so forth, how every plane in PTO was "a zero", etc..)

I figure that might be why i never saw anything about the 410.  I am for a Hugary skin on the 210, BYT.   :salute

We never used 410s, only "home-made" 210Ca-s.
I dont have information about its exact specs, but it had a double 40mm cannon in the fuselage. Was mostly used against the red army.

Heres a skin sample, 102nd attack squadron, Z0+66   from il-2, i know...

Edit: jup moot, was called M36-type cannon. 270 was produced, 160 in the RHAF, 110 were given to the Luftwaffe.
Got into service in '43 july, in the 102/1 Sas (Eagle), 102/2 Tigris (Tiger) attack squadrons, and the 5/1 Bagoly (Owl) night fighter squad.

Some pics:

Any skinners on?  ;)

Vote for the 410!!

How the hell did they fit two 40s under the fuselage?

No, the 40mm was a bofors-type gun in the bomb bay (like the Germans did with a 50mm, only a shorter barrel). It was a single gun and I don't know exactly how much use it saw, just that it predated the BK5 setup the Germans used.

I saw a photo of one on another discussion board recently, but off the top of my head I can't recall which...

I "think" i seen a hungarian 210 with double 40s in the wingroots in a book years ago, so not sure about the fuselage vs wingroot dilemma. Gonna find that book again and get the scaner working.

nope i was thinking the mk103 but wrong caliber...the mk103 was a long heavy 30mm. the 410-b1/u4 had a single bk5/50mm with 2 mg151/20 in the nose...not sure how well that worked out.  :headscratch:

correction...*nose mounted weapons removed, bk5 and mg151s in a wb151a weapons container in the bomb bay*

keep getting that wrong...  :headscratch:
