Gotta disagree with you on this one Tigger.  I think it's a heck of an idea if you live in a town that has a tradition of doing it.  We haven't had Christmas on Christmas morning since I can't remember and we never do birthdays ON the birthday.  Okay I agree with you on the other holidays but ones that really focus on children I think it's kind of cool to have most of a town follow a tradition that makes it easier and more fun for them. In my neighborhood nobody decorates and I had maybe three groups of kids come by last year.

Kind of sucks to be honest

I think that a big difference is that Halloween is not really considered to be a holiday. The banks are not closed, the mail is delivered, the kids all go to school. It’s not like they give all of us the day off of work to celebrate this day, and then we ignore it.

As for the pumpkins, I received a lot of compliments. A few people stayed to watch an entire song or two. We live on a small side street and had 120 kids stop by. A friend a few blocks over on a busier street said they had prepared 200 goodie bags and they were all gone in the first half hour. On the Main Street the kids literally came nonstop. So even if it is on the wrong day, it’s a pretty big deal here.

I miss the way Halloween was when we were kids . Was extra cool whenever we were living on base housing . I think it's great what your town does . If we get 10 kids trick or treating at the house this year I'll be surprised .
Sooo....What , are those guys here to kill you because God forgot too ?

Cool stuff right there... and FYI... Halloween is the second biggest (popular) Holiday next to Christmas.

Maybe today, since it's not considered a "Holy" Holiday... altho origin has ties... everyday life still continues.

27th or 31st... still a fun Holiday.  :aok

I live about 30 miles from Goaly.  My town does the same thing, except T or T is always on the Saturday closest to Halloween.  Ours was tonight.  Can't remember the last time it actually fell on Halloween night.
