A Funny Story I Had To Share
« on: October 30, 2011, 03:44:04 PM »
I've always had an interest in photography and, thanks to a friend from another community, I finally got a decent DSLR on the cheap from him in September.

He shoots mostly glamor, swimwear, nude, and asked if he could use my back yard for a shoot some day.  Sure no problem.  Shooting models isn't my focus but I never mind watching a pro work and getting some free tips.

So last week I get an email to see if the house would be available for a shoot today.  No worries I just have to clean up the back yard a little to make it presentable.  So yesterday I spent a couple of hours doing some work that needed to be done regardless just in case the model(s) flaked.

Last night I shot him an email to see what the status was so I could plan my day.  He said he hadn't heard back from anyone so he figured it was a wash.

Meh, okay I have other things to do today regardless.

So I'm knocking around the house after fixing a big fat breakfast for Squid and the room mate.  I've got my holiest pair of sweats on and an oversized sweat shirt that's got ground in grime and paint stains and I smell like bacon fat.

The dog starts wurfing so I take a look outside and there's a minivan parked in front of my house.  I figured it might be someone looking for a stray dog I'd seen earlier so I walked out to see what was up, the window rolls down, and there's this severely cute girl and her mom.  'We're here for the photoshoot with JE'.  Umm, okay I thought that was a wash so I invited them in and tried to call J.  Phone disconnected so I go to email him and accidentally send the following to another glamor etc photog I'm friends with  'One of your models is here CALL ME RIGHT NOW ###-###-####.  Then I realized my mistake as I was correcting because my phone rings and I get 'WTF are you TALKING ABOUT DUDE?'  'Not you wrong email gotta go bye'.  Long story short J couldn't make it today so the shoot didn't happen.

But you know I'd have to have people show up, particularly a pretty shiny swimsuit model, when I look like a refugee from a Goodwill dumpster, the house smells like a diner, and I haven't dusted the living room yet this weekend.  I'm sure I made a lasting impression.  Not necessarily a good one. :)

well I think it would have been a bit perverse looking to take one while she was there.  No, if it was a fish story it would have started out 'I thought this only happened in magazines' and had a happier ending. :D

The trick with chloroform is make them drug themselves.  Hand them a rag doused with it and then ask them if it smells like chloroform.  Works every time.  :old:
