The game is about combat; not how fast you can force a terrain change by rolling bases.

I have to say no.  We started there a while back and takes happened way to quickly.  I agree that lowering the threshold for capture lessens the possibility of combat occurring.

Well if we go with the 50 percent then put a manned gun not too far from the map room so we have a chance t defend from quick base takes.

Heck, I was going to vote for %80.  Currently, none of the fringe buildings needs to go down before it is white flagged.

So that's why their property values have gone up.

I can get town down to 50% in one pass using 6 500 lbs bombs with a b26.  75% is fine.

Since the town does not give you a readout, how can you be so sure? Most of it is scattered and disorganized, and rather well hidden. I miss old towns when you could TELL which buildings were down from 5000 feet, instead of 500 nowadays. If there was a clear indicator "THIS is a house, it is still STANDING" then I wouldn't mind. But it's a lot of work to locate the building, see if it's still up, if not find the next, oh wait I just checked that one...

Old towns had much different visible looks from "down" to "up" than now. Maybe HTC needs to make the blown up ones darker, like they're rubble?

Pretty sure. There used to be more contrast in the colors. Now they kind of.... well not exactly "blend in" but they do start looking more alike. When you're low you can tell what's up and what's down, but when you have any alt (as in the safe alt to begin a dive bomb, or say 10k+ safe alt to level bomb) it's not so obvious. When looking at the town from a bombsight, for example, you often can't tell what's up or down because the bomb craters are rendered behind the objects or something funny... Not sure, maybe it has to do with "tearing" or Z buffer or something. Many's the time I've dropped bombs on the center when in the bombsight only to get nothing. I loop back lower and see the town is already mostly ripped apart, and not from my drop either.

Semp,

I whole heartedly agree with Krusty up to the point that we likes the old buildings better.  They were much better for determining if they were destroyed, yes.  They were nowhere as graphically interesting.  With the old town buildings they stood out at least 10 times farther away.  I saw the move from 50 to 75% and how it dialed back the country resets.

From another thread addressing the low numbers at night, I will go further and say that it has also limited a sub community's ability to wage "virtual war" with smaller numbers.  However, instead of sliding the percentage again, I am in favor of something with more meat on its bones.  A newer version, that heavily rewards new subscribers for support roles.  Maybe even awarding perk points just for logging in for the day or achieving a successful Training Arena mission designed to help new subscribers eventually play leading roles in base captures or whatever.

My biggest wish has been for some kind of twist on the 10 uninjured troops in the maproom.  I would love to see jeeps in rescue roles, taking medics to injured troops.  Yes, I would like an animation of wounded troops that could be helped back to their feet and on their way to the maproom.  :pray
