Who says he will crash it. I bought my Daughter a gunmetal grey 40 year anniversary mustang as her first car at 15. It was a V6. She drove it very well and earned her Camaro I bought her last year.
would you like to adopt a 19 year old male who is currently a college student that is going for pro-piloting? He is house trained, can fly you anywhere, can drive you anywhere, has never had a speeding ticket or been in an accident (bambi doesnt count).

on a serious note...

Cap you have a really nice Stang there.

I wasnt really a fan of the new rear ends on the mustangs, but they are starting to grow on me.

i've got a ways to go till i'm willing to race her. at least break in mileage.

congrats on that et dood!!  that's still nearly a full second faster than the 80's gt's ran.

where are you launching? traction control on or off? where are you shifting? granny shifting, or power shifting? we oughtta be able to get you down to that 13.9 mark without too much.

to be honest, i loved the back of the 2009's better. till i saw them at night. big red blobs for tail lights. at first, i still didn't like these back ends. then they kinda grew on me. a LOT.

 hey golfer....what'd that vette run?

also, i should note, that i'm on mcguire afb right now.

ya same here. I however love the "new" old turn signals that they brought back and how they flash from inboard to outboard. Had they done that on the 09 styling rear end, i think they would have a perfect car.

yea, that was a big thing for me. they went "retro", and made crappy japanese looking tail lights. now that they've sleekened the back end like this, you know for fact it's a mustang that's up there in front. well....that and it would just stand to reason, if you're not driving one, then that's what that blur that just went by is.  :devil

looking at that time slip......on the tree, you shoulda had him by about a half fender. at the 60' mark, it should have looked essentially the same...you out front by about a half fender. 330 he's gained about half of that fender on ya, and it's neck n neck, but then seenign the 1/8 mark, he's probably got about a fender on you. at the 1,000 foot mark, he's opened it up to about a half to three quarters of a car, and finished at that spacing.

simple intake and exhaust mods will do that. any rear over 3.00, he should've eaten you alive on the line,,,,if he didn't he doesn't quite know how to launch....or you REALLY know how to launch.  :devil

either way, friggin LOW14'S, in a six banger that tops 30mpg, AND likes the twistie/turns.  :aok

traffic this morning was seriously FUBAR. they closed warwick rd(the main road into haddonfield from my area) completley. the way the police were detouring, was pretty much a sea of tail lights. so i turned off, and worked my way through the back roads of somerdale, to rt 30, crossed, to get to the connector road back to warwick on the other side of whatever mess they created for us this morning.

got caught behind a van at one point. capt. incompetent. or lt. indecisive. dunno which one was driving. either way, friggin 15mph in a 40 zone. came upon a bend, clear both ways, plenty of room. throttled her on the bend, tiny flick of the wheel, and suddenly i'm around capt. incompetent. and during that, all i can say, is thank god for traction control. oh....wait.....i caught, and corrected before the tc kicked in.  :devil

there's only 2 things i think i'm not gonna like about this car.

1)cop magnet.
2)poorly placed cup holder(i'll live with this one easily)

#1 will be easily fixed with the installation of a good radar detector.

right now, with only 2 highway trips, and then mostly around town and rush hour driving, she's still averaging nearly 17mpg.

To be honest I've just been hand washing to this point but I'm about to invest in some cleaning stuff.

 COOL......
i don't ever intend on taking her to a car wash. i'll be washing her by hand.......what cleaner are you using, and what wax?

oh.....i'ma loading up on paintballs. a bird pooped on her yesterday. it is now open season on anything with wings.  :devil

side note...i got a bit lucky last night coming home from mcguire. guy about a half mile in front of me in a bmw suv hit a deer. i was doing about 75, and he had just passed me. i managed to miss the deer, but still drove through a bit of the debris from his vehicle.

ugh!!

I've taken her to the wash once but they offer hand wash and I wasn't in the mood to do it myself that day.  I'm still deciding on waxes etc.  I just do a simple wash and towel off with the chamois.  I'm convinced that birds aim for black cars as both of the stangs can be sitting in the driveway and the black one will get bombed and the old one will stay clean.

I'd use airsoft as opposed to paintball.  No mess to clean up afterward :)

Hand wash can be worse than spraying it yourself. Many have no idea how to care for the paint.
