This game is based on the old Doom engine..  My 6 year old loves it!!  Love watching him and his friends build stuff on there!

Just got the game. How are you folks doing all of that? Are you doing creative, or Survival? I'm playing on Survival and have no idea how I could pull that off...

All of mine are on survival.  The mobs can be quite a hassle when you first start out.  Eventually they become rather trivial, really more annoying than anything.

I just avoid them cause they just surprise and scare the hell out of me. How many hours put into that btw? lol

I use toomanyitems mod, gotta load modloader first but it makes survival much more enjoyable, finding a village makes it easier though

I have a couple friends who've been playing for the past few weeks and after listening to them go on and on about it I broke down and bought it on Friday. 

That is one fun, addictive little game.  I can't believe how many hours I sunk into it this weekend.

Haven't come across a village yet. Got ambushed by creepers right outside my house. Saw one, went to attack it, and 2 more came from around the corner. Now to fill in a giant crater in my front yard...

Same thing happened to me yesterday, opened the door after the sun came up took about two steps and BLAMO!
 

Install some torches around the yard and it should push the creature spawn points farther back and hopefully keep them from wandering in.

After that, I installed a fence around, going to start working on my floating island fortress as well.

The game rules, I host a server for myself and a few friends to play on.  No god mode or anything, just straight up survival.  We've done some pretty big, albeit pointless, stuff
