Yes, for all who are using TIR 4 hardware, the TIR v5 software is a noticable improvement.  Way more stable, way easier to work with.  Just a huge improvement overall.

I have to laugh.. a friend of mine stopped by and it was the first time he saw my computer. Due to his language I wont post what he said but he was impressed. So I hooked him up with a test flight offline and one of coogans offline missions. I for got I had my track-ir set-up and when he looked to the right of course it looked to the right and he was stoked. After flying and crashing alot he wants a computer to handle AH and he said he wants teh triple screen set-up, so I guess I will be busy building a rig for him and he already has some specs.

So basically it was the track-ir that sold him on wanting a rig being built for him.

See Hardware and Software for specs of what he is having me build for him.

Still using my old TrackIR 3 Pro with the 6DOF "Vector" add-on.  Wouldn't fly without it.  :aok

I have it and like it, but not addicted like many seem to be.  I actually can go months without using it just because I get tired of the track clip on my headset.

I think the biggest hurdle is finding/making a good profile that you like.

Never had pedals or TrackIR. Flying with a twisty stick and never had problems keep eyes on my target.

Got all the functions I need mapped on the joystick but views. So right hand on the stick, left on the num pad.  :aok

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

Just pause TIR, use your PageUp/PageDown/Arrow keys to move your head to where you want, then press F10 to save the head position. Then un-pause TIR and your centered "home" position will be where you saved it with F10. It works for every plane and can be different for every plane.  :aok

:salute ImADot for helping and not calling me an Idiot or telling me to see an earlier thread about the subject
I assumed the saved headposition was not effective with trakIR, his simple and polite reply helped me a BUNCH

Allright, after reading this thread and watching this clip I'm gunna go buy Track IR and force myself to learn something new.  Which one should I buy, and get ready for me to ask the same questions all over again on how to set it up.
