I enjoyed the no icons in the AvA.

You see, while the icons were turned off, you still had dot dar to go by. I'd fly at a few thousand feet, tracking bogies on dot dar and rolling over occasionally to try and spot any noe types that were trying to sneak on me. It seemed to work well.

Currently it is hard for me to afford $15/month.  In addition, my computer would not be happy at 1920x1080 (the resolution of cheap, 24" screens) and even then the guy with the 2560x1600 resolution would still have an advantage.

You missed the point.  Your suggestion would not fix the problem, being closer in resolution to my existing system than the high end system I mentioned.

You said 24" monitors are cheap so making it a hardware issue is silly.  Cheap 24" screens have crap resolution, just being 1080p.  If things go where I hope they will for me financially next year I'll be getting a Dell 27" or 30" screen with a resolution of 2560x1440 or 2560x1600, but those cost about $1000 and need an expensive video card to run at that resolution.

Should players really be able to purchase advantages anymore than they do now?

Like I said, you even haven't heard my suggestion yet. So you have no idea weather my suggestion would really need hi class hardware or not.

True, but at the time you made the comment and hence my response to it the open suggestion was icons or no icons.

just out of curiosity, and i'm NOT trying to be an ass........you mentioned that right now, it's hard for you to afford the 15/month, but in the near future, financially, you're gonna be in good shape. is your opinion going to change at that point?

 i'm just curious, 'cause i'm only in ok shape, don't have the best stuff, and still prefer lack of icons in at least one arena.......and i never felt that i won or lost a fight due to one of the participants having better equipment, but rather better skill, or luck.

No.  My position has always been as I stated regardless of which end of the hardware spectrum I was on.

I've never thought in those terms when playing, but I am aware that it can have effects on the game and I wouldn't want to see it set up to be any more biased towards better systems than it is.

 ok...this reasoning i can understand.

 it would be cool though, to have just one arena without them, and set up so you can only fight against aircraft which were enemies during the war......this way, if one doesn't choose to fly there, they can go to one of the 5 others that have them. that's a reasonable request, isn't it?

Oh for crying out loud CAP, just go to the AvA section and start a movement to get icons removed again.

 i already have.....that's why i'm not in there anymore, and you don't see me starting multiple threads on how great it is in there, or how unique it is in there, or how much fun it is in there.

I still go in and I still have fun CAP. The thing is, I haven't noticed a huge increase in numbers since icons came back. I could be wrong though.

If you'll fly MA with full icons, don't let short icons in AvA keep you out. We'll wing up one night and show them what fer.
