Diablo III
« on: November 19, 2011, 02:18:00 PM »
Anyone else paying attention to the upcoming release of D3?  I was a big fan if D1 and D2, and since it has taken Blizzard 10 years to make the 3rd installment I have high hopes!   :D

Not quite.  D3 isnt scheduled for release until early 2012.  It was going to be in Dec of this year, but they put it back a bit further so the final product is not rushed.

This game has been in development for almost 8 years.  Yes, 8 years.  The game play footage is amazing.  Check out YouTube for many of the beta vids.  Good stuff.

Battle.net, you must always be connected to the net to play and the real money AH.  I'm one of those people that played Diablo 2 when the internet took a dump or something took out the cable.

I don't mind having to be connected to the internet to play Diablo 3, it actually helps Blizzard combat hacks, bugs, and other foul vermin that would otherwise hinder the enjoyment of the game.

The "real money" auction house is not as it may seem.  That is an option.  You can still use the gold credit you earn in the game, you are not forced to use real money to buy things from other players or Blizzard.  Buying things from a player will depend on the seller.  I'm not one to buy anything from the auction house, I'll find what I want/need while playing the game.

Blizzard already said "no", they dont have the time to waste on a "nonsense" level when they have so much to do in the basic game, *and* the expansion pack(s).   :aok

But it should mean at least some gameplay disparity relative to real world wealth.

I originally did not plan to get the CE version, but I now have it on pre-order. :devil  That being said, I was informed that the current release date is March 2nd.  Don't know if that one will stick though... :bhead

I will miss my Orb Sorc (was kind of hoping that skill would make an appearance in D3).  Quite fun especially when you had the proper gear.  Of course, my Orb Sorc was a HC char. :aok  Unfortunately, I lost her when my net decided to crap out on me while I was doing my Hellforge quest.  All but a couple of her items were perfect to boot.  Oh well, that's the risk when you do HC....but it is also a great amount of fun. :x  So needless to say, if I am able, I will create a HC char right off.  But I get the feeling it will be similar to D2 in that you have to beat the game in SC before you can create an HC char. :bhead

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

You really haven't been around long to have to ask..

Still curious how Coombz figures Blizzard comes close to EA.
