Arena Message of the Day
« on: November 25, 2011, 11:37:16 PM »
You can create your own arena message that pops up when people log into your arena.  Use any text editor, but try to keep the text to 55 characters per line so people won't have to scroll sideways.  Name it whatever you want (shorter is better) and keep the .txt extention.  Save it in the <AH install folder>\MOTD folder so the game can find it.  You can upload it when the arena is created by chosing it from the drop-down, or upload it via the CM menu on the clipboard (by choosing MOTD) and uploading it.

Here are two samples - one is for when I'm hosting but temporarity AFK:

Play hard, show respect, have fun!
Oh, and don't act like a 'tard.

I've set this up according to the posted specs for
the November FSO "Red Guards". You probably
don't want to formulate or practice your plans here,
but you can get a feel for the planes and settings.

Terrain: Black Sea

- To help find the fight, radar on full
- Protect object off to make it easier to practice
  blowing stuff up
- Downtime multiplier .06 so things repair faster

- Fighter and Bomber warning range 42,000 (about
  8 miles)

  match the above setting)
